CheetahDay 1: Arusha - Tarangire

Today we arrive in Arusha in time for lunch at The Arusha Hotel. At 2:00pm we depart for the Tarangire National Park where we have dinner and stay overnight at the Tarangire River tented camp.

Day 2:  Game drives Tarangire Park

Today we take breakfast at 8:00am and then have morning and afternoon game viewing in the Park. Look out for lions, elephants, lesser kudu, eland, gerenuk and tree climbing python. Baobab trees are scattered everywhere in the park.  We will have dinner and stay overnight at the Tarangire River campsite.

Day 3: Tarangire  - Manyara

After breakfast we take a short game drive in the park before driving out to Lake Manyara for lunch at the Kirurumu Tented Lodge. At 3:00pm we go for an afternoon game viewing in the Lake Manyara National Park to look for tree climbing lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos, monkeys, giraffes and native birds. At 6:00pm we leave the park for dinner and overnight stay at the Kirurumu Tented camp.

Day 4: Manyara - Lake Eyasi

After breakfast at 8:00am we depart for Lake Eyasi and arrive in time for lunch at the Kisimangda tented Camp. After lunch we take a guided walk to Lake Eyasi, which is a mildly alkaline lake about 50km in length. The lake is known as a breeding center of flamingos. The flamingoes breeding habits will be explained by our guide. The meadows along the shores of the lake are home to leopards, hippos, various monkeys and birds. It also offers excellent views of the Rift Valley escarpment and is an ideal placw in which to relax.  We will have dinner and stay overnight at the Kisima ngeda tented campsite.

Day 5: Lake Eyasi - Karatu

We breakfast early, at 7:30am and pay a visit to the Bushmen of Datoga and the Hadzabe tribe which are the two remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania. There are approximately 1500 families left in this tribe. At mid-day we return to the camp for lunch.  We depart for Karatu at the base of Ngoronogro Highlands at about 2:30pm. We will have dinner and stay overnight at the Kifaru Lodge.

HyaenaDay 6: Karatu - Ndutu Area

We breakfast at 8:00am and leave for the Ndutu Area.  After lunch at about 3:00pm we go for afternoon game drives in the southern plains of the Serengeti and western plains of the Ngorongoro Conservation area to look for great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles. These are  hunted by lions and  hyenas scavenge. We have dinner and stay overnight under tents in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 7: Ndutu - Lobo (North Serengeti)

After breakfast at 7:00am we leave the Serengeti National Park and go to the LOBO area with game drives and picnic lunch to be served on the way. In the afternoon we continue with afternoon game viewing in the North East Serengeti. Look out for great herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, lions, cheetah and leopard until sunset. Later we have dinner and stay overnight at the Lobo Wildlife Lodge.

Day 8: Full day in Serengeti

Today we spend most of the day in the Serengeti National Park. Look out   for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles and many other animals. We will have all meals at the Lobo Wildlife Lodge in Serengeti and stay there overnight.

Day 9:  Serengeti - Ngorongoro

We take an early morning game drive in the Serengeti before breakfast, which is at 8:00am. At 8:40am we depart for Ngorongoro, via Olduvai Gorge where a picnic lunch will be served. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis ("Handy man") regarded as mankind's first step on the path of human evolution. We have dinner and stay overnight at the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge on the crater rim.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast at 6:00am descend 2000 feet (0ver 600 meters) into the crater floor and have a picnic lunch before a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one the largest intact calderas in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. All the BIG FIVE:- Rhinos, lions, leopard, buffalos and elephants live in this wonderful caldera.   Other animals found here are zebra, hippos, wildebeest, hyenas and native birds. Flamingos live on the soda lake and geese, storks and vultures are also to be seen. We have d inner and stay overnight at the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge on the crater rim.

BuffaloDay 11: Ngorongoro - Arusha

After breakfast  at 8:30am we  drive back to Arusha.
