3 Days Aberdare Walking Safari

Day 1: KIANDONGORO/REEDBUCK CAMPSITE
Transfer to the Aberdares National Park for wildlife viewing in the lower forested zone popularly referred to as the Salient. Animals to see include the elephant, black rhino, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey, sykes monkey etc. The park is also rich in alpine flora and fauna, and scenic features including magnificent waterfalls, and over 250 species of birds including the Jackson's Francolin, sparrow hawk, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds and plovers. We are en route to Kiandongoro where we spent the night at Reedbuck campsite.

Day 2: KIANDONGORO/REEDBUCK CAMPSITE
Guided walk along the Kiandongoro Nature Trail. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Aberdares and the abundant flora and fauna. Tour the thunderous Karuru and Chania waterfalls. Karuru waterfalls drop down 273 metres. Birdlife is prolific, with over 250 species of birds recorded including the Jackson's Francolin, sparrow hawk, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds etc. Stay overnight at Reedbuck campsite.

Day 3: LE SATIMA PEAK/NAIROBI
After breakfast, drive to the base of Le Satima peak, hike for 2-3 hours to Le Satima peak (4001m), the highest point of the Aberdare Mountains. On a clear day you can see Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon and even Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Daiga hills. Later descend to connect with the vehicle for transfer off the mountain to Nairobi.
