7days Manyara/Ngorongoro/Serengeti/Tarangire

LionsDay 1: Arusha - Manyara

Depart for Lake Manyara National Park for afternoon game drives to look for tree climbing lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos, monkeys, giraffes and local birds. We take dinner and stay overnight at a campsite in Mto wa Mbu.

Day 2: Manyara - Serengeti  

After an early breakfast, at 7:00am, we depart for the Serengeti National Park. There are game sighting opportunities en route. A picnic lunch will be served in the park. We continue with afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti to look for great herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, lions, cheetah and perhaps a leopard until sunset. Later we take dinner and stay overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Full day in Serengeti

Today after breakfast we enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti National Park to look for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and many other animals.  We will have all today's meals at the campsite in the Serengeti and stay there overnight.

Day 4:  Serengeti - Ngorongoro

Before breakfast, which is at 8:00am we take an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. At 8:40am we depart for Ngorongoro, stopping near Olduvai Gorge where a picnic lunch will be served. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis ("Handy man") regarded as mankind's first step on the path of human evolution. We will have dinner and stay overnight at the campsite on the Crater Rim.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

This morning we breakfast at 6:00am before descending 2000 feet (0ver 600 meters) into the crater floor for game drives. A picnic lunch will be taken in the crater.  The Ngorongoro Crater is one the largest intact calderas in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. All the BIG FIVE:-- Rhinos, lions, leopard, buffalo and elephants live in this wonderful caldera,  as do others including zebras, hippos, wildebeest and  hyenas. Flamingos inhabit the soda lake and geese, storks and vultures are all found here. We will have dinner and stay overnight at the campsite on the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro - Tarangire Park

After breakfast, at 8:00am we depart for the Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch, after which we go afternoon game viewing. The park is a home to lions, elephants, lesser kudu, eland, gerenuk and tree climbing pythons. Baobab trees are scattered everywhere in the park.  We have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Tarangire - Arusha

After breakfast we take a morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. At 10:30am we leave the park and drive back to Arusha.
